Imagine taking a balloon ride through time, as you witness the flight of the whimsical bird, which through its joys and sorrows blesses or tries this land, and experience the history of the Duke City which is Albuquerque.  This show is an original work, written for Lets Pretend Players, in commemoration of the Tricentennial Celebration of the City of Albuquerque.

The actual production is approximately 50 minutes long, and is a perfect introduction for young audiences, to the history of our great city.  Historic references include: the culture of the Puebloan Peoples in the 1300s, the signing of the Proclamation in 1706 whereby Governor Francisco Cuervo y Valdez founded the Villa San Francisco de Alburquerque in honor of the Duke of Albuquerque, Annie Oakley and her traveling road show, the impact of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. on Albuquerque in the late-1800s, the impact of art and literature on the cultural growth of Albuquerque.  It is a story of good and evil and their impact on society.  City of Albuquerque is a true gem, and is the featured Children’s Theater offering in the month of March, for the City of Albuquerque Tricentennial Celebration and is the only Children’s Theater offering to be expressly dedicated to the Tricentennial.
